Töösisu kirjeldus

We are seeking a student with experience in one engineering field, such as electronics, software, or mechanics, who is willing to expand their knowledge into other engineering disciplines to achieve the goal of developing a system for a satellite as a systems engineer. The role is voluntary and unpaid.

A systems engineer is responsible for designing, developing and optimising satellite systems to ensure their reliable operation and performance in space. During the design stage, high-level design, system requirements and interfaces are set to achieve the necessary system performance. The systems engineer coordinates with other engineers and maintains a clear overview of the project’s development progress. To ensure that requirements are met, appropriate testing procedures must be designed and implemented in collaboration with other system developers.

Ootused kandidaadile

The systems engineer is a generalist who is interested in how every satellite system works and how they integrate into the overall satellite system. The primary goal is to ensure that the system operates in accordance with the project's requirements and needs. The systems engineer communicates with the rest of the team and reviews their work to understand the project's current state. In the event of delays, they collaborate with team members to identify and mitigate the issues, thereby returning to the planned development schedule.

To ensure quality, the system engineer oversees that development is carried out according to pre-agreed standards for the project. The system engineer ensures that the development and testing are systematically documented and tracked for progress and issue tracking.
