General internship guidelines
Internship is a mandatory part of almost all of TalTech’s applied higher education, bachelor’s, and integrated study programmes. Internship may also be part of master’s and doctoral study programmes.
Time and place of internships
The time and place of the internship are to be chosen by the student, meaning that the student can do an internship anytime (without having to declare it first) and the selection of the place depends on the specialty, interests and goals of the student. Sometimes the place of the internship needs to be agreed by the internship curator before the start of the intenship. It is also possible to do an internship in Mektory upon agreement. Participating Mektory’s projects is dependent on the conditions agreed with the companies involved in the project.
Finding an internship
Finding an internship is generally the task for the student, but the internship curator is an advisor who can suggest internship places if needed, and who can explain and clarify the requirements relevant to given domain. The curators usually work at the institute/centre/educational institute. The contact of the curator can be found on your school’s home page.
Internship contract
The parties (university, student and organisation) can sign an internship contract, but that is not usually mandatory. Please note that the conditions depend on the study programme and the student must be familiar with the conditions of their internship subjects. The signatories of the university are the deans or other authorised persons. For further information please contact your internship coordinator. Download the sample of the internship contract.
