Details about the role
Markit is a leading web marketplace specializing in the sale of IT devices and accessories to global companies. Operating in over 50 countries, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our customers. As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are currently undergoing a major project to migrate our on-premises platform to the cloud and seeking a promising and enthusiastic junior tester to join our team in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cloud platform.
Job responsibilities
- Execute manual test cases for new features and releases on our web platform (both customer-facing and internal tools)
- Write structured test cases and checklists based on tickets and acceptance criteria
- Document bugs clearly with steps to reproduce, environment, and expected vs. actual behavior
- Work with developers and the product team to understand what needs to be tested and why
- Over time, contribute to improving how we approach testing, processes, coverage, tooling
Expectations for the candidate
- You're studying something relevant, computer science, software engineering, or similar
- You understand what good software behavior looks like and notice when something feels off
- You can write clearly and precisely: a bug report no one can misinterpret is worth more than a report no one reads
- You've done some testing before, even informally, side projects, course work, or a previous role
- You are comfortable working in English, both written and spoken
- Nice to have: experience with API testing (Postman, REST) or basic understanding of web dev
Opportunities
- 15–20 hours per week, flexible around your studies
- Mostly remote. You can work from wherever you study, with occasional team check-ins at the office
- A real product with real users, not a sandbox project
- Direct collaboration with engineers
- A team that takes quality seriously and wants to build the right habits
