Description of work
AS TFTAK is currently looking for a student to support our bioprocess engineering group. The internship focuses on enhancing the production of an agriculturally significant soil bacterium. The project involves an interdisciplinary approach, applying bacterial cultivations in isothermal microcalorimetry (IMC) and benchtop bioreactors, microbiological methods such as viability studies and flow cytometry (FC), and potentially basic analytical techniques such as liquid chromatography. Some of these techniques require method development, for which the student will receive guidance from our specialists. Thorough training will be provided for all the techniques.
Expectations for candidate
The student is expected to have a base understanding of metabolic pathways in bacteria and prior (theoretical) knowledge on the above-mentioned techniques. Given the international nature of this project, a high level of English proficiency is also essential.
Opportunities
This internship opportunity may be incorporated into a Master's thesis. Ideally, we’re looking for a student that can work with us for at least 3 months (full-time), with a chance of employment after graduation. The internship can start as soon as possible, depending on the student's availability, but not later than 1st of March 2025.
If you’re interested to work with us, please send your motivation letter and CV (including a list of courses followed).
Applying for a job
The application continues until a suitable candidate is found or until the end of the application period.
