Your mission 

Would you like to do an internship in a unique and highly specialized field of science and technology within cost engineering?

At Elcogen, we are accelerating the transition to clean energy through advanced solid oxide technology. We are looking for a motivated Cost Engineering Intern to join our team and support the development of cost models for different business processes. We are looking for a curious and analytical individual who enjoys working with excel, data and solving complex problems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a 3rd-4th year student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in cost engineering, manufacturing economics, and have a glimpse on strategic decision-making in a fast-growing clean technology company.

As a Cost Engineering Intern, you will support the development and maintenance of cost models that help drive business and investment decisions.

You will report to the Head of Facility Management and Expansions. This is full time and fixed term internship until the end of 2027 and starting soon.

The role is based at our brand-new factory in Loovälja, Estonia, and offers flexible working arrangements, including remote work options. Company-organized bus transportation is available between Tallinn and the factory.

Responsibilities

• Operating Model Development: Maintain comprehensive operating models for Elcogen’s manufacturing processes, aligning with business control structures and data.
• Cost Modelling: Create & update, following management guidelines, sophisticated cost models to predict the costs of goods sold (COGS) considering variables like product mix, factory utilization, and product improvements.
• Collaboration with technical teams: Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure cost models reflect production complexities.
• Data-Driven Decision Support: Assist in providing detailed cost analyses and reports to inform business cases, investment decisions, and pricing strategies.
• Continuous Improvement: Under management guidelines, update models to incorporate new technologies, materials, and methods, driving operational excellence.

Ootused kandidaadile

Your Profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an MSc or BSc degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Understanding of cost control, cost modelling, or financial analysis, with exposure to manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of continuous improvement tools/methodologies (e.g., FMEA, lean manufacturing, 5S, MTM, VSM) is beneficial.
• Interest in evaluating project costs and justifying capital projects.
• A collaborative, solution-focused mindset.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive, open-minded and can do- attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
