Team status: Looking for member with a technical mindset and willing to communicate with various companies
A Mission Planner is responsible for defining where the spacecraft goes and how it gets there. You will bridge the gap between high-level mission goals and the technical realities of orbital mechanics and launch logistics. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys "the big picture" but isn't afraid to dive deep into trajectory simulations and contract negotiations.
Ootused kandidaadile
We value a fast learner over a static expert.
We expect:
- A willingness to learn orbital mechanics software (like GMAT, STK, or Orekit).
- Strong communication skills for negotiating with international launch brokers.
- An organized mind capable of handling complex logistics and documentation.
- A collaborative spirit to work within a fast-paced student team environment.
Võimalused
You will be the primary point of contact for getting our hardware off the ground and into the right spot in the sky.
Your responsibilities include:
- Orbit definition, for example, altitude, inclination, and Local Time of Ascending Node (LTAN).
- Performing orbital decay analysis to ensure the satellite meets international de-orbiting regulations.
- Research and communication with rocket launch providers or brokers
- Identify the best deployers for our satellite missions, find integration partners, and manage the logistics of shipping a delicate satellite to the launch site or integration facility.
- Scouting for possible funding sources, grants, and managing the budget for launch costs and insurance.
