Töösisu kirjeldus
Team status: Looking for a member to lead and help deliver the satellite to space legally.
You will have to ensure our satellite has the legal right to exist in orbit. In the world of space, hardware is only half the battle—the other half is paperwork. You will be responsible for navigating the brand-new Estonian Space Act, ensuring we meet all national safety and environmental standards, and securing the official Satellite Operations Permit from the Estonian government.
Ootused kandidaadile
You don’t need to be a lawyer, but you do need to be a "professional reader" who is highly organized.
We expect:
- A keen interest in the intersection of technology, law, and government policy.
- The ability to digest complex legal texts and translate them into actionable technical checklists for the engineering team.
- Persistence in dealing with bureaucracy and meeting strict filing deadlines.
- Fluency in English and a strong command of (or willingness to navigate) Estonian administrative language.
Võimalused
You will be the team's expert on the legal "rules of the road" for outer space.
Your responsibilities include:
- Interpret and implement the requirements of the Estonian Space Act (entering into force Jan 2026) to ensure the mission is legally sound.
- Manage the entire application process for the Satellite Operations Permit through the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
- Prepare and organize the "Space Object" technical file, which includes:
- Proving how we will safely dispose of the satellite.
- Evaluating potential damage and coordinating mandatory insurance.
- Ensuring the satellite and the team are properly entered into the national and UN Register of Space Objects.
- Act as the main point of contact for the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) and other state agencies.
