Details about the role

Every day, caregivers spend hours writing notes instead of being with the people they care for. Silverwise is changing that. A caregiver speaks for a few seconds, and our AI turns it into a structured care record that the team reviews and saves.

More than 20 care organisations across Estonia, from care homes to home care and special care teams, already run their daily work on Silverwise: care plans, shift notes, schedules, reminders and more. Elderly care is one of the last fields AI has barely touched, and we are building that change from the ground up.

We are a small team. As an intern you won't be fixing typos in a corner of a giant codebase. You will build real features in TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL that caregivers use on their next shift, and see exactly how your work changes someone's day.

What you will do:
- Build and improve features in our web platform used daily by caregivers and care managers
- Work on backend APIs (Node.js, REST) and PostgreSQL data models
- Help develop our AI features, such as voice to structured record documentation
- Read, debug and improve an existing production codebase
- Work from tickets in short iterations, get your code reviewed and ship it

Expectations for the candidate

- IT, computer science or software engineering student (any year), or a recent graduate
- Basic knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js
- Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP
- Basic SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus)
- You care about writing clean, readable code
- Comfortable with Git
- Some idea of how agile teams work with tasks and tickets
- You are happy to dig into an existing codebase, debug issues and read the docs
- You test your own changes before asking for review
- Curious about LLMs and how to use them in real products
- Good written English (Estonian is a plus, not required)

Opportunities

- Fully remote, with a flexible schedule that fits around your studies
- Duration from 156 hours (6 ECTS, e.g. about 8 weeks at 20 h/week). Longer internships are welcome if your programme requires more.
- We handle the university side: internship plan, agreement if needed, and supervisor evaluation
- A personal mentor and code review on everything you ship
- Real production work on AI features in a field with huge untapped potential
- Meaningful work: your code gives caregivers more time for the elderly people they look after

This is an unpaid curricular internship that counts towards your study programme. Start is flexible and we review applications continuously.

To apply, send your CV and a link to your GitHub or a project you are proud of to info@silverwise.eu. Tell us in a few sentences why this role interests you. Shortlisted candidates get a short call and a small practical task (about 2 hours).
